Geothermal resources are plentiful in our region and you don’t have to go far to find a hot pool to sink into, or a health spa for a little ‘me time’.

Soothe your aching muscles and relieve tension by soaking in a gorgeous hot pool at any time of year. There are so many to choose from in Te Moananui ā Toi ׀ Coastal Bay of Plenty. Water temperatures generally range from 30°C to 40°C and many of our local hot pools are surrounded by lush native bush. There are often private pools, colder pools, toddler pools and BBQ facilities on offer too, so you can spend many happy hours with the whole family.

Mount Maunganui’s famous hot saltwater pools at the base of Mauao is one of the most popular, or you can check out Fernland Spa, Oropi Hot Pools, Sapphire Springs, Welcome Bay Hot Pools or Awakeri Hot Springs for some soothing relaxation.

We also have several fabulous health spas and wellness retreats where you can book a massage or beauty treatment, and often enjoy a hot pool soak before or afterwards. Bliss.
