Athenree Homestead plays an important part in reflecting the early history of Ulster settlement in Katikati and Athenree where Hugh and Adela Stewart were the first settlers developing their farm and house in 1878.

The derelict remains of the house have been restored since the development of the Athenree Homestead Trust. You are very welcome to visit and enjoy our house, the station cafe, on-site events, and our lovely gardens.

Stop in for Devonshire tea

Come and relax in our new Refreshment Rooms in the old Athenree Station, enjoy a Devonshire tea and learn a bit more about the history of the Athenree area, the Homestead and the Station. Open every Sunday when the Homestead is open.
