This 2.5 hour tour , with home baked morning tea included, departs from the West End of Ohope Beach and takes us west along a sheltered stretch of coastline towards the Whakatane River mouth. Learn about the history of this coastline and its value to the local Maori people and explore hidden bays and rocky channels before stopping for morning tea on a secluded beach. On the return journey we head out on to the open ocean to enjoy the freedom of the seas with an eye out for passing dolphins and occasional whales. You just never know ! When conditions are right, we try a little kayak surfing at West End to finish off the trip in style.
