The Rangitāiki is the Bay of Plenty's longest river holds special significance to Māori, with local iwi (tribes) having a long history of connection to the awa (river). Our Action Bug tour takes us on a journey through a remote gorge below the spectacular Aniwhenua Falls.
The tour meets at Lake Aniwhenua, close to Whakatāne, Rotorua & Tauranga. Action Bug is a premier Bay of Plenty experience, with 5 km of exciting whitewater, deep pools, stunning scenery, and a picnic by the river. Tours depart September – April. In small groups we offer top equipment, personal service & and unforgettable experience. Grade 2. Bring Swimwear, towel & sun protection.
