The Com Plex Motel has 6 heritage suites, and 2 twin share suites situated above a beautifully restored heritage building and 20 corporate suites, constructed in 2020/2021 on the site that was occupied by the original Commercial Hotel.
The Com Plex is a Motel with 20 Corporate Suites and 8 Heritage Suites. Guests have the option of choosing a modern corporate suite or a completely refurbished boutique heritage suite in the original Bank of New Zealand building built in 1917 that also houses The Comm Restaurant and Bar Downstairs.
The Com Plex Corporate Suites were built in 2020/2021 on the site of the old Art Deco building that was demolished due to earthquake issues. Each downstairs and upstairs unit is alternated and are held in place by large steel beams resembling a Meccano set. The Com Plex is conveniently located just a two minute walk from the Central Business District and the beautiful Whakatane river mouth and Wairere Waterfall are just a short walk away.

All accommodation and any other charges not already paid for must be paid in full on the day of departure (if not already done so), unless prior arrangements have been made with The Com Plex Motel’s management. Overdue/recovery charges will apply if your account is not paid on time.
Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations must be made by the person who made the original reservation no later than 72 hours (3 days) prior to mid-day on the expected date of arrival. Cancellations must be in writing and emailed to admin@thecomplex.nz and will incur a $25.00 administration fee.
Cancellation of Group bookings must be notified no later than 30 days prior to the expected date of arrival.
Late cancellations will be charged the full room rate, unless The Com Plex Motel is able to replace the booking.
