  • Bottling your gin requires concentration - you don't want to spill any.
  • You can either work together as a pair, joining creative forces to select from our library of botanicals and create your recipe, or you can have a still to yourself and produce a gin as unique as you are.
  • Matahui Distillery Flavour Lab, where you will distil your own gin.
  • We've planted our new gin garden with both well-known and more unusual varieties to use in the production of our spirits and liqueurs. We're growing botanicals using permaculture techniques and hope to be able to source more and more from our own property in the future.

A fun and informative experience, distilling your own gin at Matahui Distillery Flavour Lab is an afternoon to remember - especially as you get to take your creation home with you to enjoy at your leisure. With a wide range of botanicals available and expert help on hand, you can create something truly unique that really tickles your tastebuds. This experience lasts approximately 3 hours, with a snack and tastings included. Matahui Distillery is a small craft distillery located in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. We meticulously hand craft each batch of our delicious spirits and liqueurs and grow many of our botanicals here on site using permaculture principles. We're delighted to offer our expertise to help you create your own personal gin.
