Experience the Bay on two wheels

The Coastal Bay of Plenty is a dream for cyclists with something for every skill level, ranging from an easy family cruise to adrenalin-fuelled mountain biking across spectacular terrain. There is also a range of guided bike tours with local experts; whether it's a Tauranga harbour cycle, a harbour cruise and e-bike tour around lovely Omokoroa there's something to make you want to get on your bike!

Buses

Going by bus is a great option for getting around the Bay. In Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Pāpāmoa and Whakatāne, the service is Baybus. Check out their website or drop into the Tauranga isite at 1 Devonport Road for help with booking.

Electric Vehicle charging stations

Bayfair Shopping Centre: On the corner of Maunganui Road and Girven Road in Mount Maunganui is Bayfair Shopping Centre. You'll find charging stations in the undercover parking at the entrance to the mall, and outside the Amazon store at the back of the mall.

The Strand (southern end), Tauranga: Two AC chargers. This site is New Zealand’s first dedicated solar-fed electric vehicle charge site and is free to use (currently funded by Trustpower) – bring your own cable.

Tauranga Crossing Shopping Centre, The Lakes: Four free AC chargers located outside Look Sharp.

Waihī Beach Top 10 Holiday Resort: Powered sites with EV Charger are available at this popular camping ground.
