Hemasphere presents - Toi Tū Te Wā - Time to Shine Workshop.
An opportunity to connect with our media, entertainment and musical Stars, representing Māori kaupapa and doing what they love!
Featuring guests: Tawaroa Kawana - Puawai Taiapa - Casey Rarere (DJ Kase).
Tawaroa & Puawai are public figures and both members of Maimoa Music, Aotearoa’s premiere kaupapa Māori band. Both are accomplished artists and creatives that have made a huge impact with rangatahi throughout Aotearoa.
Casey (DJ Kase), DJ/Producer is a media production specialist and sound engineer for Māori TV & now Mediaworks. All three guests have amazing stories to share about their journey and careers in media, music and kaupapa Māori.
The group will lead a workshop from 12.30pm-3pm, targeted at local rangatahi/taiohi (8-12yrs & 13-18yrs) to develop confidence, media and musical abilities through Q&A sessions and engaging presentations of their mahi. Participants will have an opportunity to perform and also gain a better understanding of the Matariki kaupapa by local iwi leaders who will facilitate a session on the most up to date knowledge and tikanga of local iwi celebrations of Matariki in the Tauranga Moana region.
