Warm up for Bob!
Bob Dylan arrives to play in New Zealand on 26th August. Why wait! Come and celebrate the music of Bob Dylan, from his iconic sixties hits through many decades of creative brilliance.
Including songs from the classic albums The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, Bringing It All Back Home, Blonde on Blonde, Highway 61 Revisited, Basement Tapes, John Wesley Harding, New Morning, Planet Waves, Blood On The Tracks, Desire, Time Out Of Mind, and more...
Due to illness, the first iteration of this concert - May's Bob Dylan Birthday Bash - had to be cancelled. But it's back and will be better than ever with the full Kokomo band and special guests!
Blues 'n' roots favourites Kokomo, the full band, who sold out the opening concert of the 2016 National Jazz Festival at Baycourt's 600-seater Addison Theatre. Kokomo remain the only band in New Zealand to have released a full album of Bob Dylan songs (In The Well, 2008). The band has played everywhere from Auckland's Aotea Centre to the Kaponga Backgammon Club and released 11 albums and a full-length concert DVD.
They will be joined by:
Award-winning singer Marion Arts and multi-instrumental wizard Robbie Laven, who formed legendary Kiwi band Red Hot Peppers back in the seventies and have performed at festivals and concerts throughout Europe and Australasia. They have released many albums together and separately and currently form the core of highly-acclaimed Gypsy Jazz band, Bonjour Swing.
The concert is general admission and, since it is at Tauranga Boys' College's Graham Young Youth Theatre, will be alcohol-free. There will be other refreshments.
