For Tauranga Art Gallery Auckland-based artist Evan Woodruffe has created a layered, organic environment with multiple portals and perspectives.
The atrium has been transformed by large drops of shimmering velvet fabric featuring his signature arrangements of line, form and colour.
Known for his colourful, dynamic artworks, Woodruffe includes a series of composite, modular paintings that act as a counterpoint to his new exploration into textiles.
“These are living, breathing ecosystems and visualisations of a new kind of urbanism.” - Lucinda Bennett
