Labour Weekend (19th – 22nd October 2018) sees some of New Zealand's top latin dance teachers and performers from all around the country coming together in Tauranga to take part in the 12 Annual Bay Salsa Festival.
Spanning 3 days, this fun-filled weekend has something for everyone, whether you are young or young at heart, a complete beginner or experienced dancer, or simply want to be dazzled at the show. With 2 parties, workshops, the "Shake it" Dance showcase and a Brazillian Carnival themed ball, how can you not have fun?
What started out as a one-off event in 2006 has turned into one of New Zealand's favourite salsa events of the year. The first Bay Salsa festival held in Tauranga was run as a way of supporting the NZ Youth Salsa Team with their travels overseas by donating the profits of the event to them to help with their travel costs. This quickly turned into an annual event that is supported by teachers and participants from all over the country. This event is run by a group of volunteers who love to dance and want to share this love with the community. Some of New Zealand's top latin dance teachers and dancers will all be in one place at Labour weekend, and that place is Tauranga in the sunny Bay of Plenty.
Various ticket options are available so whether you want to take part in all or part of the weekend, there is a ticketing option for you.
