19th Tauranga Multicultural Festival is coming this year to a new location at Wharepai Domain right in the heart of our city! Every year the festival is a celebration of the many new and old migrant communities that made Tauranga their new home. We would like to share their art, culture and food with you – the people of Tauranga and Bay of Plenty. The celebration is also a recognition of the Race Relations Day on 21st March and this year the motto is: “Give nothing to racism".
So come for the whole day, bring blanket or chairs and enjoy the music, dancing, singing, try the huge range of ethnic (and not so ethnic) food during the day. There will be also art and crafts stalls, entertainment for children and a range of stalls with information for migrants and locals alike.
The Parade of Nations will take place at midday and we would like to invite you all to take part – just join the group under the flag of your nation- a national costume would be great but you can join without it too.
There will be eftpos at the gate.
People who came before would not miss it for anything, so if you have never been to this festival – try it! You will be hooked!
