Resurgence Wage Subsidy announced
A 2-week COVID-19 Resurgence Wage Subsidy payment will be available nationally for employers, including self-employed people, who are financially impacted by the resurgence of COVID-19 and changes to COVID Alert Levels.
The new scheme will be available for 2 weeks from 1 September, when the existing Wage Subsidy Extension scheme expires.
The criteria will be similar to the existing Wage Subsidy Extension — businesses must have had, or are predicting to have, a revenue drop due to COVID-19 of at least 40%. The revenue drop applies for any consecutive period of at least 14 days between 12 August and 10 September, compared to a similar period last year.
Applications for the updated Wage Subsidy Scheme will be open by Friday 21 August.
