Tourism is a booming industry in the Bay - international visitor spend is up 12% on last year, and the latest results from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Enterprise (MBIE) show tourism spend in the Coastal Bay of Plenty region has increased by $86 million to $773 million.
Visitor numbers are up and cruise ship passengers are increasing, plus the number of guest nights for the region are up significantly compared to the previous year.
With all this growth, we're always looking to improve our services and systems, and as a result are expanding our i-SITE team to ensure we're delivering top-quality customer service to our guests.
We would like to congratulate Ronda Lawrence and Saskia de
Vlaming who were the successful applicants for two new positions within Tourism
Bay of Plenty.
Saskia de Vlaming
Saskia’s role is to assist the Cruise Manager and i-SITE Manager in preparing for the Cruise Ship Season and day-to-day operational management of the i-PORT and i-TICKET.
Ronda’s role will assist the i-SITE manager in the day to day operation of the Tauranga i-SITE Visitor Centre.
