The name Kaimai translated from Maori means a path way to food, which is something Captain Cook discovered around 1769, when he named the region the Bay of Plenty, after he noticed the abundant food supplies at several Maori villages he visited on the coast. State Highway 29 is now the path way to the Bay of Plenty and therefore, the Kaimai Cafe.

Visit the Kaimai Cafe and enjoy a delicious range of homemade cuisine and great coffee in a peaceful, picturesque, rural atmosphere with ample parking.

We can also arrange morning or afternoon tea for groups. Let us know what you would like and we can have it ready for you when you arrive.

If you or a loved one is having a birthday, Christmas party or any other get together, Kaimai Cafe offers a warm, personal atmosphere for small function.

Kaimai Cafe is also the perfect venue for smaller, more intimate weddings. We can comfortably provide catering up to 80 people.
