We would never go back to this place.  I went with a friend and we ordered the chicken platter.  We ate one dish at a time and nearing the end of our meal we noticed that some of the chicken (it was drenched in a teriyaki style sticky sauce) was raw.  We told the waitress and the manager came over and took it away.  He came back and said that yes it wasn't cooked properly and that he had spoken to the cook.  He asked if we wanted something else to eat.  I advised that I was breast feeding my baby and if I got sick from eating raw chicken and passed it onto my baby it could be very serious, so no we wouldn't eat anything else there.  He came back with 2 free coffee cards, but absolutely no apology or discount on the food.  When I got home I thought about it and decided to call the council and let them know as I was concerned that a pregnant or elderly person would get food poisoning and get really sick.  The council rang me two days later and said that they had visited the venue and spoken to the manager who lied and said the chicken was cooked fine.  They suggested we take a sample or a photo and send it to them next time.   I can't believe the manager denied it!  Funny enough my friend that was with me at the cafe is a cop and she was there when the manager admitted it was raw.   Dodgy food, dodgy staff, we would never return.

Always enjoy the food here, try the blueberry pancakes! They need to clean they're tables more often though! And service with a smile would be nice too!

We visited Deckchair Cafe a few times over the weekend of 15 Feb. The staff are so friendly! The French toast, and date scones are to die for! Delicious muffins too! Definitely our new favourite cafe at the Mount!
