Stopped here for dinner on our road trip. We didnt get there until around 9pm and the place was packed which is a good sign. We had a burger, fries and beer special ($10) and it didnt disappoint. Theres a great retro feel with all the old furniture etc. The lighting was pretty poor in our corner but the service, food and atmosphere certainly made up for that. Check it out if you are ever in the area.
Have been here for lunch a couple of times. Both times we have sat in the courtyard which has a really cool vibe & is set up well. The food is great for a pub lunch. Decent pricing, good selection & great taste. On our latest visit this weekend my partner & I shared the beer battered fries, squid & chicken wings all of which we thoroughly enjoyed.
We went here today for lunch with some friends. The decor and atmosphere are lovely. Quirky kiwiana that provides a talking point. Service was slow. Our first round of drinks had been forgotten and we had to ask for them again. All 4 of us had the beef burger, served with a pickle, two onion rings and fries. The burgers were delicious. A lovely spicy chutney provides a point of difference from other burgers. Fries were nice but were not fresh out of the fryer so I wonder how long our food had been sitting there before someone brought it out. Staff were lovely, just a bit disorganised. With a rev up on service this place would be great.
