Back by popular demand, award winning singer-songwriter Paul Ubana Jones is returning to Baycourt Theatre for a special, intimate, one-night-only performance on July 27.
Paul Ubana Jones is more than one man with a guitar – he is a “conjurer of unique and original folk songs, rooted in primal blues and soul”.
With a career spanning more than three decades and eight albums, Paul Ubana Jones is one of New Zealand’s hardest working musicians who continue to perform throughout New Zealand, Australia, and internationally – delighting old school fans and inspiring new ones wherever he goes.
His festival appearances include Dublin Blues Festival, Byron Bay Blues Festival, Vancouver Island Folk Festival, Blues at Bridgetown, and many others across Europe, and over the years he’s shared stages with acclaimed artists like Keb Mo, Norah Jones, Bob Dylan, Tuck and Patti, Crowded House and many more.
“Trying to describe just how good Paul Ubana Jones is, is like trying to define why the Mona Lisa is the most famous painting in the world - words pale in comparison.” — Evening Post
“Paul Ubana Jones’ soulful voice, sprightly guitar agility and enthusiasm made this the most inspired performance of the evening... in any other country he would be an institution!” — Simon Sweetman
