Using smartphones and laptops as light sources, and puppets made from cables, Troll tells a story that is both mythic and modern. This brand-new work combines storytelling, music, and puppetry into an uncanny tale from the twitchy edges of the digital age in the vein of David Mitchell ‘The Bone Clocks’, and ‘Stranger Things’.
“There’s a cable leading into your wall that wasn’t there before. Something’s scratching behind the power sockets. Things are disconnecting…” It’s 1997. Ottó is twelve, but says he’s thirteen and is pretty sure he gets away with it. He lives in an old wooden house, with his mum, dad, and sister, a chain-smoking Icelandic granny, and a malevolent troll that lives in the wall… Using smartphones and laptops as light sources, and puppets made from cables, Troll tells a story that is both mythic and modern.
