Paradox Youth Street Art Competition

Until May 23rd | Paradox Youth Street Art Competition Site, Tauranga, Bay of Plenty

We are seeking Tauranga’s next superstar street artist through the Paradox: Youth Street Art Competition run in conjunction with Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology and OfficeMax New Zealand.

The competition is open to young people aged 13–24 years from schools, tertiary education providers and community groups.

There are three categories to enter:
- 13–15 years,
- 16–18 years and
- 19–24 years

The young artists are free to paint with and on any material they choose, as long as the surface is no larger than A1 (594 x 841 mm) and the piece can be easily moved.

As part of the competition five pieces from each category will be selected to be exhibited for the public to enjoy from 29 May to 9 June 2017 in the newly opened M Block at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology. Opening night will include a live DJ, food and introductions to the pieces from the artists.

How to enter:

Email your registration form (available online at: http://www.taurangastreetartfestival.nz/programme/event-details/tabid/4822/eid/933/tctl/10543_/Default.aspx) through to anthony.campbell@tauranga.govt.nz or drop a paper copy off at our customer service centre at 91 Willow Street, Tauranga.

Once you have registered, you have until Wednesday, 23 May to finish your piece. Simply take a picture and send it through to anthony.campbell@tauranga.govt.nz or My Tauranga on Facebook by 4pm on Tuesday, 23 May.

The youth-focused street art competition highlights the creativity and vision of young local artists through the medium of urban street art.
