The Tauranga Civic Choir is delighted to present Felix Mendelssohn's "Elijah", one of the most dramatic oratorios in the choral repertoire. The work tells the splendid story of the prophet Elijah from his epic battle with the prophets of Baal, King Ahab, and wicked Queen Jezebel, through to his final ascent in a fiery chariot to heaven.
The choir, under the baton of musical director Jeremy Whimster, will be accompanied by New Zealand's most respected organist, John Wells.
The choir welcomes four talented soloists to Tauranga including two of the Lexus Song Quest finalists, soprano Madison Nonoa and tenor Felipe Manu. Kayla Collingwood is the contralto soloist. Joel Amosa sings the dramatic part of Elijah and his fine bass-baritone voice and operatic experience will bring excitement to this concert.
This is a one-night-only concert so do not miss it.
