Rattled by the bones of convicts and steeped in campfire smoke, Bush Gothic perform darker, stranger Australian folk.
Revolutionaries and pirates, they destroy all pre-conceived notions of the Australian folk music tradition. Bush Gothic re-build songs that are defiantly modern yet achingly old. The band’s leader and fiddle-playing singer, Jenny M Thomas, together with double bassist Dan Witton and drummer Chris Lewis, reveal gothic tales of Australia’s dark history.
Direct from a tour of England and Ireland, all three members of the band have toured the world with a long list of internationally acclaimed music and theatre ensembles. This is the first time Bush Gothic will perform in New Zealand. Join us for this special afternoon performance in the Carrus Crystal Palace.
