The 2017 New Zealand Men's Mid Amateur will be combined and played simultaneously with The 2017 New Zealand Women's Mid Amateur at the Omanu Golf Course situated in the coastal haven of Mt Maunganui in the Bay of Plenty region.
The Omanu Golf Course chosen as the host venue in 2017, is a superb championship course layout, located close to beaches, cafe's and good quality standard accommodation.
For the Mid Am Championship, both Trophies, the Neil Woodbury Mid Amateur Cup and the New Zealand Women’s Masters Sheild, donated by the Women’s Trust Fund, will be awarded to the overall lowest gross winner, man and woman, over 54 holes. Additional gross and net prizes by division and age, will be awarded, the final age split advised when entries close and the field is full.
The event is a 54-hole stroke play championship by age group, with net events running concurrently. The field will be limited to the first 120 paid entries received. The closing date of entries is the 13 January 2017, unless the field is filled sooner.
Players must be over 30 years of age, as of the 13 January 2017 and have a New Zealand Golf Handicap Index not exceeding 14.0 (men) and 24.0 (women) or an overseas equivalent.
