Summerfest 2012
Bay Of Plenty, Tauranga
A huge, fun day out for all ages - 0-99 years! This Waitangi Weekend people from all over will come together at Blake Park, Mt Maunganui for Summefest 2012. It’ll be the perfect opportunity to enjoy hot sounds and cool vibes in the summer capital of New Zealand. Inspired and motivated by requests from the local community, this unique, family-friendly festival will celebrate the Bay of Plenty's rich creative taonga, delivering an exciting line up of more than 20 local artists, as well as bringing home two local lads who have made it on the national and international stage – Stan Walker and Jeremy Redmore with Midnight Youth. Presented by Creative Tauranga and Tauranga Round Table, the inaugural home-grown music festival promises to be one huge fun-packed summer celebration! Two stages with non-stop music and dance between 10am and 9pm showcasing more than 20 local musicians and performing artists including: Aaron Saxon, Nine Mile Stone, The Deeds, Swamp Thing, MauaoPAC Nu Skool Dance, Urban Dance Company, Tait Kora, Joel Shadbolt, Porina & Godsown, Enercia, RPM, Herm Dub, Tribe & Nation Performing Arts Group, kapa haka groups, Battle of the Bands winners and more… The festival will close with internationally-acclaimed ex-local boys Stan Walker and Jeremy Redmore with Midnight Youth. Fun and entertainment galore will be spilling out of Blake Park! There’ll be something for everyone, whatever your age. For the young, and young at heart, there will be loads of carnival rides. You can also tantalise your taste buds with the fantastic range of food and beverage stalls or pack up a family picnic and make a day of it! (Strictly no alcohol event.) To make sure the whole community gets to enjoy it, organisers have made ticket prices easy on your pocket. But get in quick as tickets are limited. Give your family and friends a Bay of Plenty summer treat to remember – or maybe purchase a ticket for someone you feel deserves a special gift to brighten up their summer!
