Bay of Plenty award-winning Bed and Breakfast accommodation with seaview unit right on the water's edge at Maketu Beach, an authentic New Zealand historic village.

Expansive ocean, river and estuary views.

We regularly have dolphins to entertain us in the Bay.

Unique things to do:
- Walk the village with our local historian, you'll laugh and learn your way around this little village.

- A very relaxed, social Maketu Rotary meets on Tuesday nights, guests are most welcome to come for drinks, dinner and a speaker, a wonderful opportunity to meet and chat with the locals (no formalities).

- Our village markets are held on the third Sunday of the month. This is a great early morning thing to do, come and have breakfast on the village green with the locals.
ANZAC morning with the village for morning remembrance and breakfast together is not to be missed.

- March triathlon is a huge family event.

- March Seafood Festival is always a sell out.

- Maketu Beach has a very popular cafe on the edge of the surf, all our accommodation guests eat dinner there - the fresh fish is wonderful.

A 'stay put' destination: take relaxed day trips to Tauranga, Rotorua and Whakatane. Sleep well and enjoy lazy long Kiwi breakfasts on the deck made from local produce as organic as possible, stroll along the beaches and emerge your selves in the tranquillity. Take time out from travel to wonder the beach and put your feet up with a book.

Our seaview unit is self-catering and is very popular year round for long and short stays, minimum two nights.

The unit has a super king bedroom with ensuite, full kitchen, living area with a day bed that is often referred to as the snorer's bed, private front lawn overlooking the river, beach and ocean, garage, and separate entrance so you can come and go anytime. A wonderful central home away from home.
