Classic Flyers Aviation Museum
The museum features a large display of classic aircraft with an emphasis on New Zealand aviation. Nearly all the working museum’s planes were used during World War II, and the majority of them are still flown. Other items on display include aircraft engines, field artillery, cannons and machine guns, and World War II vehicles.

Take a flight
Feel the wind in your face as you fly over Tauranga in an open cockpit reliving the true excitement of a vintage aircraft. Two open cockpit biplanes are available for flight seeing tours and can be booked any day of the week weather permitting.

Functions, meetings and events
Classic Flyers prides itself on providing an easily-accessible and private venue for up to 150 people. Set in stylish and tasteful surrounds, packages can be tailored to cover every aspect of your event.

Fuel Up at Avgas Café and Bar
Av Gas Café and Bar is the perfect spot to relax and before or after your museum visit, but you needn’t be visiting the museum to sample some of the best coffee and café fare in the region. Open from 7am to 5pm, 7 days a week to tempt you with our speciality breakfasts, a wide range of delicious snacks and filling lunches.

Military Museum
Opened in October 2007, this collection is a major addition to the Classic Flyers Museum. The collection is on loan from Andy Moreland who founded the Tauwhare Military Museum and features unimogs, uniform, jeeps, weaponry and much more. The intention of the military museum is to promote the Tauranga Military Collection as a ‘Memorial of Freedom’ in honour of those who fought to give us our freedom.
